Southerners love peaches and having a part of local fruits incorporated into our recipes is a common occurrence. This punch is the perfect beverage for almost any celebration. You can make this non alcoholic by replacing the champagne with sparkling white grape juice for the kids.
1 16-ounce package frozen sliced peaches
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/2 cups orange juice
1 750-milliliter bottle Verdi Peach Sparkletini (peach champagne)
crushed ice
3 tablespoons lemon or lime juiceDirections:
- Thaw peaches at room temperature but do not drain. Place peaches and their juice in a blender container or food processor . Add sugar. Cover and blend or process until very smooth.
- Transfer processed/pureed peaches to a 2-quart pitcher. Stir in orange juice and lemon juice or lime juice. To serve, slowly stir in champagne. Serve over crushed ice. Makes about 12 servings.
- This recipe can be made ahead if kept in the refrigerator.
