We all know on Thanksgiving day, family and friends stomachs growl in anticipation of the feast that awaits them. Children especially have a hard time watching and smelling all those goodies being prepared without getting to sample any in advance. This simple treat will keep them happy and let you get on with the cooking.
This can be prepared rather quickly and are tasty little treats to keep your hungry family satisfied until the big meal is complete. Instead of the usual snacks of celery, carrot sticks and ranch dressing, these tasty Hors d'oeuvres taste like little mini apple pies on crackers and a batch can be whipped up in no time.

Ingredients:
One dozen saltines, Ritz crackers or Plain Pita Chips
(it really doesn't matter what cracker you use, any work well)
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Sliced apples
Margarine
Finely shredded cheese, mild or sharp (your choice)

Directions:
Peel, core and slice enough apples to place one slice on each cracker for what you need.
Mix in your cinnamon with your granulated sugar.
Take one cracker, and butter with 1/2 pat of margarine
Sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture lightly.
Add a little shredded cheese
Add apple slice
Sprinkle again with a little more sugar/cinnamon
These can be placed on a dinner plate and heated in a microwave just until cheese melts.
Heat no longer than needed to melt the cheese and soften the apple. Check at 30 second intervals in your microwave.
